Shepherd was born in conway, arkansas, to pair of country music fans. When shepherd was six, his family moved to oklahoma and he started listening to country music. His first album was his christmas present to himself, and it was there that he started to learn the art of country music. Shepherd formed a band called the wallflowers and started performing. In 1984, he started his first tour of the united states. Shepherd has since performed in over 150 states and countries. In Colorado Springs, he will be performing at the Colorado Springs countyier music festival. He is known for his hit songs about love, pain, and life in all its various forms. Friday, december 3rd, was the first time that the Colorado Springs academy of music had the opportunity to offer this unique opportunity to the public.
