Wilson worked on numerous compositions to "prove" the existence of the Group and to give it a past musical. Together they developed the delirious history of the group, imagining the names of the members and albums. They went up to invent the events to which the group, as a large concert have participated in a festival of rock of the 1970s and a chaotic past. Although Porcupine Tree was created, originally as a farce and that Wilson was involved in another No - Man project, in 1989 he began to consider some as marketable music. He then made an 80-minute cassette titled Tarquin's Seaweed Farm, known as the Porcupine Tree group. Continuing in the spirit of his project, it includes a booklet of 8 pages containing information on obscure members passed the group alias Sir Tarquin Underspoon and Timothy Tadpole-Jones. Wilson sent his model several people who might be interested in his work. The English underground magazine Freakbeat was creating his own label when it received the tape.
