Motion City Soundtrack is a group of American rock formed in 1997 in Minneapolis (Minnesota, United States). It is constituted by Justin Pierre on guitar and vocals, guitarist Joshua Cain, Jesse Johnson to the synthesizer Moog, Matthew Taylor on bass and Tony Thaxton on drums. The group currently has two members of the original formation of 1997: Justin Pierre and Joshua Cain. Motion City Soundtrack has released four studio albums whose sales are nearly 600,000 copies around the world (the United States alone representing nearly 500,000 copies sold).,. Motion City Soundtrack was born from the ashes of two local groups. Joshua Cain of Saddest Girl Story recruited Justin Pierre from Slide Coaster, allowing the creation of Motion City Soundtrack in Minneapolis, Minnesota, in 1997, found in the current line-up only Joshua Cain and Justin Pierre of the original line-up, which included guitarist Joe Skinner who will remain less than a year at the timeand then a little later, drummer Andrew Whitney. Joshua Cain later stated that they had quickly realized that there were more places "where really occur in concert in Minneapolis", and that they should "turn all the time" to make a name. The name of the Group Motion City Soundtrack was found by the brother of Joshua Cain, Brian, that Joshua would have said "invented a name for something with which you could do the fool, just an idea" then would have proposed it to the rest of the group who adopted him. In January 1998, Motion City Soundtrack played its first concerts in small towns and has a large number of changes in its formation. Andrew Gruhn briefly joined the group to the Moog synthesizer, Andrew Whitney left the group, while Austin Lindstrom resumed the bass and Joel Habedank battery (formerly member of Sadie Foster and The Fuck Yeahs). Later in 1998, Andrew Gruhn goes, forcing Joshua Cain and Justin Pierre to resume the Moog in turn to save Studio with Randy Duerr at Wigged Out. These recordings will be part of a single vinyl 7 ","Promenade / carolina", marked by the formation of a line-up official, in 1999, Early in the year 2000, the group still Exchange training with the arrival then the rapid departure of Matthew Potocnik, the departures of drummer Joel Habedank and bassist Austin Lindstrom (for the second time).
