Gavin Koppell (DJ Lyfe). Incubus is a group of alternative rock formed in 1991 in Calabasas, California. Its current members are Brandon Boyd (songs and percussion including the djembé), Mike Einziger (guitar, Fender Rhodes), Ben Kenney (bass), Jose Pasillas (drums) and Chris Kilmore alias DJ Kilmore (corporations). Gavin Koppell aka DJ Lyfe (corporations) and Alex Katunich aka Dirk Lance (bass) are former members. Brandon Boyd, Jose Pasillas, Mike Einziger meet primary school. The first two knew each other since the fourth rank (equivalent to the average price in the United States). If the trio then spent most of his free time surfing and make the skateboard, like most school children in Calabasas, once high school (Calabasas High School) in 1990, they form the first group with Alex Katunich, at the age of 15 years. Interpreted pieces came from Mike and Brandon favorite groups: Metallica, Megadeth.. In 1991, the choice of the "incubus" name is likely due to Mike Einziger, side a thesaurus. Four musicians very quickly begin to cope rather than to make the occasions, often playing in festivals and bars. During their eleventh grade, Mike found by chance a hundred dollar bill, which allows the group to their first concert in Hollywood, in the Roxy.
