Immortal is a black Norwegian metal group founded in 1990 in Bergen by Abbath and Demonaz Doom Occulta. Immortal has produced several albums that have become the reference in the genre of black metal. Only Abbath and Horgh group released its fifth album, At the Heart of Winter, which marks a significant change in the style of the group with the introduction of thrash metal. In the following months, bassist Iscariah joined the group to allow Abbath to focus only on the guitar. After having released Damned In Black in 2000, the last album produced with Osmose Productions, the group signed with Nuclear Blast and produced his seventh album Sons of Northern Darkness, climbs in the charts of several countries in Europe. After to be dissolved in 2003, the Group meets in 2007 to tour 7 Dates of Blashyrkh Tour. In 2009, Immortal produced his eighth album, All Shall Fall, with members Abbath, Horgh and Apollyon of Aura Noir. The beginnings of Immortal are found in the Group of black metal of the end of the 1980s Satanel where Abbath, Demonaz and Varg Vikernes. These last three are also death metal Old Funeral group. The two groups have existed in parallel until Demonaz decided to separate to form Amputation with Padden drummer and guitarist Jà¸rn Inge Tunsberg. Amputation produced two demos: Achieve the Mutilation in 1989 and Slaughtered in the Arms of God 1990. In autumn 1990, Tunsberg decides to leave Amputation to create Hades Almighty; which has the effect of dissolving the group. It was then that Demonaz and Abbath decide to base Immortal by recruiting guitarist Tunsberg and drummer Armagedda, Immortal consists of these last four product its first demo, untitled in 1991 Suffocate is the name which is often given to this demo because the title of the first piece is Suffocate the Masses. It is often believed that Immortal has produced a second demo entitled The Northern Upins Death, but this is the same demo.
