Elliot Minor (formerly The Academy) is a pop rock York, England. The group is composed of Alex Davies (lead guitar vocals), Ed Minton (vocals/guitar), Dan Hetherton (bater�a), Ed Hetherton (bass), and Ali Paul (keyboard). Elliot Minor started as a duo, formed by Alex Davies and Ed Minton, who met at Uppingham School in the year 2000.Minton introduced to Davies in the world of music rock (Davies State hab�a previously studying to become a violinist). Together they began to write lyrics and record their music, and made acoustic versions of other groups. In 2005, after leaving Uppingham, both took a sabbatical leaving his studies and focused solely on writing and recording his songs. Later that year Davies was found with his friend Dan Hetherton at "the Minster School" children in York, where they were looking for young boys, and invited them to practice with the group. Hetherton joined to the group as bater�a. His brother Ed also joined the group as bass. Davies was in contact with another friend from childhood, Ali Paul, keyboardist, and added a keyboard part to his songs. Paul was watching the progress of the group by MySpace and is "half - learned" songs. Paul joined the Group officially shortly thereafter. They called themselves 'the academy', but later changed their name to Elliot Minor for legal reasons already to hab�an many other groups and institutions called The academy. Davies built a recording studio called Mavehole Studios at his home, where they began to record more songs. In 2006 Elliot Minor won a competition organized by McFly through MySpace, and had the opportunity to do a concert in Newcastle upon Tyne in front of 13,000 people. Later signed with Repossession Records, an independent record label encouraged by his manager, Gary Ashley, but later signed an agreement with Warner Bros. The Group recorded their debut single, "parallel worlds", in 2006 in Los Angeles with Jim Wirt, producer of Hoobastank, Incubus, Something Corporate and Jack's Mannequin, among others. "The single was released in April of 2007 and peaked at # 31 on the Top UK 40.Poco later singles,"jessica","the white one is evil"and"still figuring out"reached the Top 30.""parallel worlds" was released, followed by "Time after Time".
