In 2002, Rhino released a two-disc compilation, Only The Beginning, which spans the band's entire career.

Cetera completely disowned the special and went so far as to not allow VH1 to use any of the songs he composed for the band, even declining to be interviewed (although stock footage of a Cetera interview does appear).Despite the personnel changes over the years, the group is still active four decades after its founding.
