Brand New is a group of American alternative rock formed in 2000.Leur third album The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me was launched November 21, 2006. Towards the end of the 1990s, Jesse Lacey, Garrett Tierney and Brian Lane were all parties of The Rookie Lot, a group of post-hardcore. After the breakdown of The Rookie Lot, Lacey, Lane and Tierney began to play together with Vincent "Vin" accardi supplementing the group. The Brand New name comes from a song by the Beastie Boys. After signing a contract with Triple Crown Records, the Group began work on their debut album Your Favorite Weapon. The album is a mixture of songs from their old demos and new material. As Jesse Lacey, the lyricist of the group, was a teenager when he wrote Your Favorite Weapon, the album mainly speaks anger and feeling of revolt of adolescents. The album was produced by Mike Sapone. The opus has not had much success, but he allowed the group to travel around the world, supporting groups such as Good Charlotte and Incubus. The second album of the group, already heard released in June 2003 and received much more positive reviews than the preceding album. The album contains songs more slow, deep and more black, with a more polished sound and lyrics concerning various subjects, including lung cancer and sexuality. It was produced by Steven Haigler, engineer for the album Trompe le world of Pixies. The title is a critique of modern music, saying that she always has the same tone. The title of the album also contrasts with the name of the group, Brand New meaning "Flambant Neuf". Three singles were taken from this album is "The Quiet Things That no. One Ever Knows", "Sic Transit Gloria..." "glory Fades" and "I will play my game beneath the Spin Light". In late 2004, Brand New was the cover of Alternative Press, grading that their next opus would be more than expected from 2005, but no information on the album exit before June 2005, when the official website of the group could be read that the singer Jesse Lacey was made early in 2005 for appendicitis and that the majority his problems was a thing of the past.
