A New Yorker Magazine writer admitted making up quotes by Bob Dylan

Jonah Lehrer, the writer for New Yorker Magazine admitted in a statement released Monday that he invented quotes by singer Bob Dylan in his book “Imagine: How Creativity Works”. He said that some Quotes included in his book do “not exist’ and others were “unintentional misquotations, or represented improper combinations of previously existing quotes.” he added.
He also acknowledged that he lied to the Tablet reporter Moynihan when he told him that the quotes were authentic and taken from archival interview footage provided by Dylan’s representatives.
Even Dylan himself, he was challenged of taking lines from blues songs and from Civil War poet Henry Timord and use the content in his album “Modern Times”.
